I sold my 1950 Chevy pickup alot of you on here hated. I needed a car I could take the whole family in. We drove up to MO about 1.5 weeks ago and picked up this subtle custom 1949 Fleetline. She fits the whole fam and then some. Been Frenched Shaved (those two words rarely are put together) and louvered. had a Pontiac one piece windshield. 1955 235 I6 with a t5 trans. getting about 20mpg on the highway. Interior is stock and great condition. Shes almost becoming a daily driver. driven it 7 out of the last 10 days. Sounds like you are already enjoying the hell out of it. Any plans or just wear out the tires?

Those cars are on my "got to have list". I like 61 Chevy steering wheels a lot, great color and stance. 59 Caddy tail lights are passe'. Too many holes in the car for my taste, but I'm glad you like it. Great truck, btw.

thanks all. Verno30 I sent you a message. plans are to find a 1 piece visor to fit my car with the one piece windshield. i believe i was told that the split window visors are about 1.5" narrower than the 1 piece window visors. probably put silver metal flake scallops on it. Interior one day. and lower the back 1 more inch.

Congrats on "new" ride - why putting a visor on such smooth body?

With all those holes, it looks like Swiss Cheese and those Caddy lights, FEO! Other than that, nice car.

I really didn't want to sell the truck, but nothing beats having the wifey and two boys in the car with me.

what do you mean Caddy lights FEO?

FEO = UGLY. Passé = been done to death, passed by time, a trend that came and went a long time ago.

  16. Again I say, nice find! I wonder what plans you have to make it more yours.. Small changes in the future, or is it to be left as-is?

I wonder if a subtle bullet tail light lens like a '56 Chev might fit in the recess to mimic the bullets in the grill? There I go - changing your car! Apologies.

Here are the taillights that were in it before. They don't look all that bad either.

Feo means ugly. Not personal, but they look like a pair a of hard nipples on a cold day. Peace.

I'll chop it one day. Lower the rear. Adding scallops. And interior. I'll probably keep the 235

  22. I like the taillights that were on the car. Fits with the other modifications and overall look on the car.

Great Chevy, maybe a pair of rock stone guard and fender skirts will be perfect;). Enjoy your new ride with your family:).

Nice car. I agree the tail lamps looked better before, plus they matched the front parking lamps. Sometimes less is mote.

Very nice car!I like that taillight setup. Cool truck too. That 235/T-5 combo should work out really well.I noticed that your engine has a 2 stud mount valve cover.About every 235 I ever saw had 4 screws mounting the valve cover. The 2 stud cover was for 216s.It doesn't matter,I was just hoping someone could enlighten me.
