So last night I was interested to see the new show with Bill Gibbons and Jimmy
Shine. It started off well enough with some cool shots of coups and such tooling
around the So Cal area. When They decided that an 1984 El Camino was a worthy
candidate for a build by Shine and financed by Gibbons I instantly lost interest. If
indeed Gibbons really wanted an Elco. of this vintage why in the world would they
even consider a junker like the one displayed. I am sure a decent one could have
found easily enough in virtually any local in the U.S. Jimmy Shine is a talented builder
and Gibbons has proven taste and ample finances. The show reeked of production
company orchestration and outright paid for talent. I would have thought better of
these two individuals. Maybe I am a bit cynical in my old age, but I was disappointed.
