Hot Rods New Roadster owner

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Hot Rod Ron, Jan 19, 2022.

  1. Just wanted to say congrats to @nitrobrother as the new owner of dad's roadster that was listed in the classifieds. So happy you ended up with dad's roadster. Could not have gone to a better hot rodder. Can't wait to see your personal touches on it.

  4. Dad made the color from scratch and never named it. I think it now has a name. At least nitrobrother has the recipe for the paint.

  5. Ron Sr. did an awesome job building the car - the details are done to a high standard - and I'm honored to be the next caretaker of it. I'm gonna drive the wheels off the thing! Grinnin' like an idiot the whole way... :)

Oh, and I've decided to name the paint color "Plum Fudge" just 'cause I was up late last night and couldn't sleep.

    The '40 has a garage-mate....

  11. People with palm trees should have a roadster, way to go, and it gets to live in a garage with curtains! Live it up.

Unfortunately it's suffering from a distinct lack of brakes at the moment. It's got an appointment with The '40 Plymouth Doctor who will perform emergency MC replacement and front disc installation surgery.

  16. Here are my plans for it:

    Square headlamps
    19's and 20's Foose wheels
Scallops - probably in pink or mauve
    High-back buckets from a mid-'90s 350Z

    JUST KIDDING!!!!

Seriously, I'm only going to make subtle changes in the interior space to make it fit my lanky body, and probably a top of some sort to keep the Arizona sun off'n my haid. Some period-correct detailing to the engine. And plenty of gas in the tank!

(Yes, I lost the front hub caps...they ping-pinged down the road a couple of weeks ago on a particularly rough portion of Grand Avenue in Glendale... )

I'm surprised but I think I like it better without the caps. Pull the rear ones!

    Nice car!
