The body looks to be in pretty good shape overall. What drivetrain does it currently have? Subscribed.

  11. Pretty cool, what's the low down on suspension and drive train ?

As of right now it has a mild 350/350 setup. Ford 9" rear speedway straight axle setup. The body is super clean has a few spots in the floor that need some love. Right now the plan is to clean up frame, motor and rewire only thing I'm missing is a original front seat.

You should consider an Olds mill in there, iI know the chevy is cheaper and easier to get parts for but those old Olds engines are some torque monsters for their size.

Now that's thinking outside the box, which I love. Never liked the side trim on those cars and I would leave it off or change it. Good Luck with her

  21. Really nice car but you lost me with the 350/350. Car needs an Olds mill.

I've got the feeling he got the car that way. And if so, that would put a different spin on things. I like it regardless what the mill is. If it was a 56 Gassered, no. That's what got me to open this thread in the first place. But the 55 lends it's self well as a Gasser.

If it had a 394 and a hydro, I'd be drooling.

Hey who cares whats in the car. Get it running, run the crap out of it and when the sbc blows up find a cool Olds 455 or 421 Poncho or something for the car. I'm no fan of the sbc, but it is what it is. At least you can run it soon rather than wait awhile to build something up.
I had a '56 Olds 88 with the 330 when I was in high school and really like your car, looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
