This is what I went to pick up on new years day. A friend had it for sale and I needed a truck so we made a deal. 78 f150 4 speed 351. I think my wife has reservations about the color because she asked me this morning if I was gonna paint it. My telling her I thought a wild multicolor flame job would be good didn't seem to help any. 2. Tell your wife you are going to flake the top. Flake always makes the ladies feel better. Reminds them of nail polish or something [IMG]

Nice! I am redoing a '72. Maybe put some more white on it, like paint the lower half or maybe the molding? It would tone down all that yellowness.

Or I could get state road dept. stickers and buy a shovel to lean on. [IMG]

i had a 79 with a 302/auto. it was great old truck. mine was NOT pretty. it was very rusty and beat up but thats what i liked about it. i used a piece of 4x6 1/4" wall tubing for a rear bumper. i welcomed tailgaters [IMG] but strangely never got any [IMG]. that was a good ole work truck [IMG]

I bought a new F250 in '78, great truck. Mine had the 400 - 4 speed w/ Ranger XLT trim. IMHO 1979 was the last year Ford made real trucks. In '80 they went to much lighter steel bodies. I remember denting my uncles new '80 F250 by leaning against the door. I do remember the 351M motor having some valve guide problems back then. My brother bought a new '77 F150 w/ a 351M in it and it had valve train noise the whole time he owned it.

    MercMan1951,
That looks amazing but I have two projects already I need to work on so it's probably gonna stay yellow and get used. [IMG]
