Any updates Rytang
Happy New Year @rytang...while we are gently tapping our feet kinda like these fellas below...we await you return to The Desoto Wave...Hope the recovery from the injury is near over...this garage stuff is a serious playground.
Question for you...you being an artist did you ever render a vision of this Custom in it's finished bliss? If so could you let us have a peak...maybe you did several angles...we're all eyes don'tcha know...
He's on Instagram. Car looks the same, but this picture is a great rear length shot of it. Injured hand, married ... hell, guy has to work ... but I too hope he plays with this project again.
Link for those that don't Instagram.
You can click in for progress. Just click his profile, on the upper left. It is his tattoo page. Like I said .... the man works .... alot !!!
Like junkies waiting on a dealer....glad you came through
Thats a great quarter shot! I wonder what he's gonna do with the front end.
Taking 4 inches from the core support
outter core frame sectioned 4 inches
sectioned core support.
now to attack the sides. After taking 4 inches out, you can see nothing lined back up.
bringing sides together. This changed the angle as well. This bring me problems later, but it had to be done.
cutting out the shitty areas that didn't line up
and sectioning in new pieces, using old pieces
this half is done
now for this half. Planning my cuts
bringing edges together
filler piece welded
old cut out
old pieces sectioned back in and ground
done now Sandblast and primer. And move onto the next set of problems.
sorry for the delay everyone. I'll try to update more often and include a ton of pictures.
Good to see you back...no pressure......oh...and you definately still have that magic art for making incredible stuff look easy...
Hey welcome back Rytang! Awesome update and on a Monday morning nothing better to start the week than great metal fab! Hobo Jim
Glad to see you back at it. Hope that ashtray full of butts is a years worth and not a days worth, or you might not be around to enjoy your efforts. Ralphie
Whoa, cool, you’re back at it. That’s some good news for a cold & snowy Monday morning.

good to see you at it!
Great look on the rear wheel openings. Thanks for the update.
Good to see you and to see the progress on your car.
Glad your back at it. Thanks for the photos. Snowman
Glad you’re back at it. Core support looks factory after you worked your magic on it!
What's this? This guy's radiator support has nicer body work than my car!
Now that's funny, I don't care who you are.
Welcome back. You never disappoint.
Hello Rytang - everytime I see an update on this true Work of Art, and the fantastic thought and detail put into it, this energizes me to do mundane and no-talent tasks on my own Hamb-heap. Thanks!
If you wanted to this would make a great Amazon book when you are done, every custom fan would want one for X-mas. There arent too many good (modern) project books out there.
Just skipped thruw and then started from page one and read the hole story. What a tremendously build and craftsman job. Very nice ideas. Thank you for charing the pictures. This build shows pretty good how much work there is for sectioning a body. Keep on.
Hey Rytang, been watching since the start! Great stuff! I was hoping you could share your tools and techniques for your welds and finishing. It always looks really good and straight.
I connet with Flypa 38, that would be interresting for me two and I bet for others.
me three!-i guess!!??.......
Makes an easier said than done top chop, look easy!
