  1. Yep, what everybody else has said, absolutely brilliant work young man. I too am enjoying your " can do approach " to your build.

Does anyone know about unilug wheels? I found a set that came off a 57 chevy bolt pattern 5x4.75, I was wondering if they would fit my 5x4.5 pattern?

unilug refers to them fitting multiple patterns. They "should" fit

In order to fit your 4 1/2" bolt pattern you must have the the adapters that fit in the slotted holes in the wheels. The adapter for the 4 1/2" wheel was the same as the 5" wheel.

So I picked up some really bad Cragar ss wheels (the owner said they were Cragars, they aren't) on Craigslist last night. I knew they were in bad shape, but I need 14s after the section. So I payed 50 bucks for them, and figured I'll just use them as rollers. And I also hope they fit the car. Im having custom studs made to mount to the drums to accept mag wheels. (The machinist is having troubles and that's my last hope. Not sure what to do if he can't pull it off)
These wheels don't have the oval inset for the cragar unilug washers (that's how I knew they weren't cragars). These wheels are slot to fit other sizes, but not sure what lugs I'm supposed to use? Or washers? Maybe someone out there in HAMB Land can help me?
Anyway, I scrubbed the better 2 of the 4 today before I got tired.

Have you taken a wheel to a wheel and tire shop? They may be able to tell you what you need.

I'm thinking you'll need square-shouldered lugs and thick, round washers intended for those lugs. Ask your local tire shop.

Cool man those cleaned up pretty well. What's the skinny on the custom lugs? What's stopping you from using the stock ones?

Any of the auto parts stores will have them. Take your wheel with you to match them up. Just have to get the right diameter shank.

My stock lugs thread into the drum, I need the lugs to come out of the drum and accept lug nuts.
