The tear drops work better with that tip. Dig em. Angled aireals? The anal retentive part of me has issues with crossing streams.

I dig the detail you added with the raised section at the base of the Antenna, and even though I wouldn't have thought to do it, I'm really liking the looks of the assymetrical crossed antenna.

It does strike me as an early lowrider kinda wild custom now, I can picture it laid out over angel hair...

Thank you. I did use round bar. 1/4" and bent it over an 1 1/2" die, and shaped it on the car to get the curves of the car. Then I shaped sheet metal to the curved part of the tear drops. It looks so good in person, you can see the bar fade to nothing. You can't really see that in the pictures.

I like the treatment of the antennas. The second photo answered my question about if they touched.

They do not. They are both angled away from each other. You can kinda see what I mean in the photo above.

I like what you are going after!

Do you have any photos of making it a 2 door from a 4 door?

Can't say I love it,but I can't stop looking at it either. Kinda like studying a painting. Keep going! Crossed antennas are saying" look down here"!

I'm not a fan of the style of car, but I can certainly respect your attitude, drive and dedication. You have gotten a lot of work done in a shot amount of time. Unfortunately its rare to see that kind of drive and dedication these days. So, style differences aside, good on you man. You've got a vision and you're making it happen, and you are doing it with quality work. It's easy to do it with sub-par work, and cover it up. You are doing it with metalwork for the world to see, and showing that it doesn't take a shop full of equipment to build a radical custom. It takes the want. I hope you get a lot of enjoyment from the finished car.

  19. Wow, I do like the whole idea of the sunken aerials with those neat red tips. The crossing of the aerials is different but suits the whole car as does the amazing detail around the bases. You are building a winner in the " One Off " stakes for sure and I'm enjoying watching your creative juices flow with the ability to form it from an idea to fruition .

  20. Ya your doing a great job i havnt even got to the body on my car. Still trying to get my drive train set up. If your ever in so cal id have to talk you into slinging ink on me haha you have skillz man

This is one of the threads I always looked at as a lurker. Good stuff. Can't imagine all the welding and grinding a sectioning would take. Like you sunken antennae. Love over the top builds.

  25. Keep on, keeping on  To tattoo or to not tattoo - to chop the top or not - some of those whiners must have penis envy - geeesh  I appreciate excellent work no matter what it is. It takes a very steady hand to lay a weld or tattoo. If tattoo artists can learn to lay a weld, can a welder learn to tattoo??? Sure, the only thing to stop them is themselves!! o_O

Looking good man. The criss cross antennas actually make me like your Hines- esc ports more.

With the antennas out the two holes look so different from each other that I didn't dig on it but with the crossing happening it gives it a kind of asemetrical balance. Good eye man
