Yes it is Across the Pond...
It is known as Coupe De Grace however... paging @chryslerfan55 is this the Coupe you were speaking of...its in a Goodguys Mag? Yes I realize it's a 3w...but if it is what Chrysler was recalling it would eliminate that direction...

  8. Neat 3 window rod, but not THE one.

So we drop back a couple squares and search for the next lead.

Seems we are starting to flounder a bit. I think we need the help of some of the 'big guys' around here. A couple have already been paged. Did I read on here somewhere that Gene Winfield is a member? If so, hopefully he will see or be made aware of this mission. Until some more knowledgable people chime in, we may be chasing shadows..............

There's just a hard to find blurb about the car being Watson painted and a few pics:(

    https://www.customcarchronicle.com/forums/topic/watson-style-32-ford-coupe/

The story and NEW info should be posted in the forum for all the members to see...and hopefully get some new leads. Also, the Administrators can add the new info to the original story.

  15. Found this, in an article about John Foxley:

"A panel painted eggplant purple and pearl white 1932 Ford hot rod named Coupe de Soul by Gene Winfield was originally built as a hot rod in Victoria in 1948"
    Probably the 3 window.

Pat Ganahl responded to my email and told me he's not familiar with the car.

Oh, well. I was sure that he'd know the car and lead the op right to it.

Watched this one a few days back. Phil said that it (the 32) was painted with left over paint from Watson’s own thunderbird pretty cool stuff. Watson still has that swagger about him just a cool ass dude.

  23. This is what I get for not double checking my sources ( I need a vacation). Okay I’m going to sit down in the corner now. Oh and yes, that’s the article I was thinking of. Sorry it’s not the correct vehicle.

    That's okay, @chryslerfan55 ...
    Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Glad you don't need a lesson in window counting. :D

All good from this end, I found two Coupe De Graces in magazines with 1 being a Chopped 5 window so I feel pretty good about it...:D

Hard to believe it just vaporized after 1979...and those may have been older images at the time...

That $60 1995 4 page spread on Ebay with that 5 window could yield fruit as any chopped 5 window could be game at this point...

  30. I'd start looking for ones with a 37 Packard dash, 50 Pontiac tail lights and/or a z'ed rear frame.
