New look for my 51 Ford pickup- whadda think??

Hey Chris, go get you one of the aerosolair cleaners to spary down a keyboard, turn it upside down and it get freakin' cold.....then spray that sticker and all around it....it should come off pretty easy. Before these things came out, i used to use nitrogen.

And I'm also for the blackwall's....

 

Chris, That picture you created is "Right On !" I don't think you could go wrong with that cobination.

The whites look good, but like you said, same size, and it would look really good dropped just a few inches

 

Thanks guys for the thoughts. I'm still thinking on what I want to do, and also the cost to do it versious putting that money in the 33. If anything on the truck changes, I'll keep ya'll informed

 

use a heat gun

 

My experince on removing stickers of sort is use a heat Gun.
But being that old U never No. Freezing I think would make it real Brittle U'LL get it off BUT in very dmall peices.

Black walls and dump it

 

Yep, that was my first flathead powered rig. 1946 Ford pickup. It was soooooo ugly when I got it. The previous owner painted EVERYTHING primer grey. The trim, wheels oversprayed onto the old tires, all over the windows. It was a grey blob. I hit it with a pressure washer and washed it with paint thinner a couple times to get some color on it! Lowered it with a 3" Mor Drop axle, removed a couple leafs on all four coners, added tires/wheels and presto. That was one of the best rigs I ever had. It now lives in England!

If I remember, tires were 7.50x16 and 6.50x16...same size I'm thinking for my current F-1 in subject

 

My avatar is G- H 78 15, yet to come is the dropped axle as well as the flipped rear!

 

3'' droped axle, 6.50-16 and 7.50-16 wide whites, or spend the 700/800 bucks on your 33

i think that the skinny whitewalls on the front all the way around would look cool but the fat ones they make the truck look all short and stubby.

 

I like the blackwalls. Makes the truck look more balanced. When I look at it with the WWW all I see are the tires.

Get the same size whitewalls all around and don't change anything else. Great looking truck with just the right patina.

 

Stay with blackwalls on that truly wonderfully patina'ed F-1.......love it the way it is.....

The whitewalls just don't look right to me......and they are way different widths.......

WWs look best. Dosnt matter if they match or not. looks cooler if they dont.

 

Another blackwall vote. The wide whites with the dark blue paint just looks too busy to me, the tires just stand out too much. If the paint were lighter (like your other truck) it would work better.

If it were mine I'd lower it about 3" all around and keep the blackwalls. But either way its a good looking truck!

 

What did you end up going with? I'm all for the white walls myself.

 

Trucks still exactly how it was with the blackwalls.

 

Chris you the man! you do alot for this site, u motivate alot of people nice touch.i just can not figure out the quick turnround time on your cars..

 

I think she's perfect just the way she is.

 

I like the blackwalls myself, maybe if she was lower the WW's might do it though. Or some stripping and lettering?
