I am Steve. Live outside of Houston. Bought a 29 Ford earlier in the week. 425 Nailhead 2X4, 4 speed, 9 inch with 411s. Car is a real 29 all steel body. I am sure the frame is aftermarket something. It has a few issues but nothing major. Just looking for a place to go if I have issues I can't hammer out on my own. This place was suggested by a few people. One of the first changes I will need to make is to the steering column. I am kind of big guy and my clutch is only about 10 inches from the steering wheel. I will post pics in a new thread when I start on that. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Yes, Welcome! One question though........what did the wife think about you appropriating those carpets for the new Roadster ?......not that there's anything wrong with that ...:D

"Search" is our friend here. Fabulous build and troubleshoot or tuning threads to be found.
    Good Luck!

Thanks everyone. To answer some questions: The rugs are old and much better to lay on than the garage floor. They had been stored in the attic for several years. I was instructed to "get rid of them " by the Mrs. I will get some better pictures when the weather clears up and I can roll it our of the garage. For the local Houston people, I am in Seabrook. Anything going on down here other that the regular Saturday thing at the Kemah Home Depot?

Welcome Steve, and a beautiful roadster.
I'm a big guy myself, and also encountered the steering wheel/ clutch pedal problem. What I did was move the upper end of the steering column 3" to the right from it's stock location. Then my knee could come up between the inside of door and the steering wheel when I raised my foot onto the clutch pedal.
I have a U joint on the forward side of firewall, so it wasn't too much effort to move. But that was on an initial build from rolling chassis stage. May be a little more involved on a finished car. Your mileage may vary.

Lou Wells, no worries, I am very thick skinned and enjoy some back and forth smack. Part of the hot rod game. Thanks all for the welcome and look forward to chatting more soon.

Car was built in 1965. Trying to keep it as it was built then. Guess I need to go buy a dwell meter and timing light.
