New H.A.M.B. App now available for iPhone & iPad

    Hey guys... The new H.A.M.B. App is now available here:

    A few things to consider:

    1. The app is now FREE. However, there is a small ad displayed at the bottom of the screen for non-Alliance members. Alliance members will see no ads once logged in.

    2. We changed the name from "The Jalopy Journal App" to "The H.A.M.B. App." The reason for this will be clear later. :)

    So, what is this App good for? It's great for uploading images on the run... And it's great for keeping up to date with the HAMB itself as the app now supports notifications. Meaning, if you allow notifications you will now get a little "bing" and a pop up window on your phone if:

    - you get a new PM
    - Someone replies to a thread you are subscribed to.

    In any case, I think this is the first App we've released that is polished to a degree that I'm actually satisfied with. This one works and works well... Enjoy it!

    I should also mention... If you already had "The Jalopy Journal App," it should upgrade to this H.A.M.B. App from your App Store Update list.

    Android upgrade will be out next week. I am currently polishing it up now.

    That being said, there are some huge things in the not so distant future for iPhone users. I'm really, really excited about it and can't wait to release it. If that goes well, I'll have some good news for people that like to subject themselves to the Android operating system as well...

    Yeah - 'subjecting' oneself to the Android operating system - a bit like the masochism of Windows. Nice 1 Ryan - just downloaded it and now off to play....;)

    Ryan how do I turn off the auto subscribe feature. when I signed into the new app, I said to notify me, I am not getting "pop up" notification of responses. Do you automatically get subscribed to any thread you post to? and how to I turn off the notify me function I agreed to.
    the wife and I share the Ipad and I know she iwll not care to see these pop ups


    I just deleted my subscription screen (but how do I stop it from automatically subscribing) so I can only subscribe to specific topics that I chose.

    I just downloaded it this morning. It's pretty sweet. I think I actually prefer it to the regular message board on my laptop. It is easy to use and simple to navigate. Awesome job!

    Oops! Looks like the signature is going to need some work. It doesn't recognize line breaks in the app and when viewed on a computer it lists both your profile signature and the app signature.

    My subjugating Android App has always given me notifications on thread and PM activity. It must be ahead of the apple curve.:D

    I'm also using a DROID phone right now but renewing my contract this week and may go iPhone or an HTC phone. I like to have the iPhone 5 but man the price! I guess if I do iPhone it will be the 4s.

    Can't wait to use the app it would be nice to get on the board when out and about and not have to use google.

    I like it better then the original app. I still wish there was support for the social groups. Maybe that will be down the road. ;)
