Very nice metalwork! Do you have any pictures of the construction steps? And what forms and hammers and patterns you used to form the metal?
Great stuff, not my cup of tea at all but amazing to look at. I bet heads turn when you drive down the road.
Totally my cup of tea! Thats awesome....some great looking bodywerk...and still evolving? One of my favourites on here for the year! (just scraped in cos in 2 hours it's 2004 here!) Cheers MAIKI
Kartsa, I love that Buick. It's just "right on". The work you are doing on the grille surround is perfect as was the work on the top and, especially, the trunk. Just one question-why, oh why, would you want a Merc when you have a Buick as neat as yours? Well, I lied-I have another question. Don't they ever mow the grass at car shows in your neck of the woods?
Not only is this one of the nicer Buicks that I have seen, but you could have done well during tech week if you posted your tailight jig. Nice setup. I am looking for tailight lenses for my 50 Merc, do you have a jig setup for those lights as well?
Nice work Kartsa. Still I think that road eating ´50 Buick grille is the meanest there is. If you guys been wondering why Karstsa has been away from the board so long check out these. I´ve quess you`ve got to work with something as simple as hot rods to get the inspiration to work on Kustom ? http://www.kolumbus.fi/eemeli.virtanen/projects/Img_2262.JPG http://www.kolumbus.fi/eemeli.virtanen/projects/Img_2203.JPG Hyvaa Uutta Vuotta Kartsa !
The center of the grillebar is center section of '57 Caddy frontbumber.Ends are tops of '49 Caddy bumberguard. And a bumber is from '49 Cadillac. Tudor is a friends car.It was a BIT rusty when I started to work on it.It is a English '32.Chopped 2 1/4" and channeled 3".
