Well thanks to a friend of mine I just recieved my first hot rod. It is a 1930 Model A speedster. It is 100% taken apart right now so I will be hanging on the tech pages trying to figure out what goes where- any help would be great! It is not easy to put an entire car together when you didn't/ haven't ever taken one like it apart! Anyway- can't wait to get to reading!!
Welcome from Rockmart GA! Where in GA are you? Send me a PM with your e-mail address so I can send you flyers for our show at Rockmart HIgh School on 5/30 and our cruise-ins at Ingles in Rockmart on the second Saturday of the month April-November.
Welcome to the board. There are members in your area that should be chiming in here soon. In the mean time, If you can make it to Lanier Speedway the first Saturday in April, you can see a couple close up and in person and pick the owners brains with questions. Keep an eye open for HAMB and G.R.I.T.S. meetings as well.
Welcome from East Alabama. Are you from New Georgia? Or are you New, from Georgia? New Ga. is a town near Hiram GA.
^ wow- thanks for the welcome everyone I am in Acworth,GA (Cobb county, metro Atlanta)/(I had no idea there was a "New," GA but I am not surprized) and I had no idea there was so much happening around me- I am going to do my best to get out to as many shows as I can so I can see what others have done. I have a picture of the car as it was mocked up before we took it 100% apart to rebuild from the ground up. A few changes I am making is a drop front axle, ford racing header, webber downdraft, 16" big and littles, and i pair of bomber seats on order as well- but I am holding onto all they old parts if I feel frisky and want a change!
Welcome! I'd do some searches here before you start buying parts. I'd also read some of the Jalopy Journal entries that Ryan's posted over the years. The cool thing about those style cars is how they're built and a drop axle may really change the overall vibe of the car. It's really up to you, of course. You've got a great platform to start from.
Welcome from Marietta. Breakfast get-together this Sunday. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=3747079#post3747079
^ I will try and be there- Thanks! And the cool thing about the car is- I already have EVERYTHING!!! woohoo! I just need to put tab A into slot B! You guys are really getting me excited to start this project! thanks!
