Yesterday was a bitter sweet day. I was happy and looking forward to getting my new A home , but at the same time a little sad. I got from an old friend of many years that built it about 30 years ago. He and his wife are now in a home. They are now having to liquidating everything. He is a Model A lover and built the car and wooden body. I think about all I'm going to do to it is clean it up and detail it and maybe put 16" wheels on it and then enjoy it.
Sorry about your friend's and you are doing the right thing by keeping their memories alive. As Tex mentions, if possible, take them for rides when ever possible, it might do wonders for them. Also, join the National Woodie club, we welcome nice people like you.
I'm afraid the time will come when we all will be facing the prospects of letting go of our hot rods & customs and having a close friend becoming the care taker of our cars may make it easier to let them go, I know you will take you friends out to lunch in his old woodie in the future and make more memories. I like the idea of adding the 16" wheels, the ols Kelsey Hayes bent spokes would really set the car off. HRP
