The suspension design seems like an answer to a question nobody asked. It appears to reduce the unsprung weight quite a lot, though at the expense of both looks and possibly handling.

That all said, you gotta applaud them for thinking outside the box, and putting in the engineering time to produce a system like that. I agree that it will be expensive as all get out, but it's cool none the less.

EDIT: It appears that they're not as innovative as I first thought. I Googled Morgan Sports Car and got to see several different incarnations of this same type of suspension. I must admit, I'd never before seen a system like that before. Still neat, but even less so now that I have seen that it's not something newly developed.

I'm not sure who they are trying to market to. Do they really think hot rodders would consider that type of suspension? I'd bet it's in the 5,000 -10,000 dollar range too and it's not pretty on an open wheel car.

That thing looks like shit. I could care less if it is like a formula 1 car. Those guy's are fags. Real men drag race or drive stock cars.

It costs $$$ to be lame.

  17. And a space frame is a "breakthrough innovative technology"? I wonder if Ford Racing knows that their logo is on that brochure . . .

The more money you spend on new products,... the further you get away from traditional hot rods.... this is something for the gold chainers.

  19. Multimatic is definitely in bed with Ford.
They do the Ford factory SCCA "showroom stock" stuff.

Part of their business is Tier 1 supplier of parts for production cars,
they also have a high end shock division that does real expensive race stuff.

You guys are going to be busy poking fun at every kit car manufactured that is not traditionally styled. It's a kit car for crying out loud, not an original 32.

Not sure as to what F1, Champ cars they are refering to, but to my knowledge, all the current successful F1, CART, IRL cars use the "conventional" double wishbone, push/pull rod, c/o suspension.

At first I thought what a waste of a 3/W body, either Ford or Brookville,...... then I seen the silver lining,..... you can still save the body !,..... but I am afraid it may smell kind of funny forever!

  29. There was a big debate, push rods vs pull rods,in the mid 80's.
Right around the time we built our push rod car.

I think everyone uses push rods or rockers now.
Pull rods are not effective in rebound, the rod deflects,
give a loss of damping control.
