Uhhh I'll have a rum and high test please............ I figure that would hold....maybe,......maybe 3 gallon
Both shocks look the same to me. I think you see the right one different because of the fuel line coming from the bottom right of tank?
How can this be a greater safety issue than a 32 -34 tank mounted in the rear of the frame . Let’s face it any hot rod is not the safest ride to get in a crash with . A prime example is my 32 3W has door safety locks . I get into a hard enough crash , to be knocked out , I’m sure the first responders have field manual instructions to get me out safety that doesn’t include unlatching the door safety latch . All we can do is try our best to prepare for the worst and try to prevent it . Just be safe as you can and enjoy this hobby .
Is that really a rubber fuel line coming out of the bottom of the tank and going over the exhaust?????
I did a air tank like that on a CJ5 I had. Bumper was made out of a piece of drill pipe, closed off both ends and put in a tire valve to fill it and a quick connect for a air hose. It held enough air to air up a couple of tires if you got a flat out in the boonies. Don't think I would want a gas tank like that though.
A rear end collision could possibly be an issue but no worse than several million Model A's with ten gallons of gas in the cowl that would be in your lap and face in a front end collision. The safest factory tank I have run across would be in the Pontiac Fiero. It was in the exact middle of the car in what would normally be the driveshaft tunnel.
