Technical Neva Lost gas cap info please

    I have a Neva-Lost gas cap that I am trying to find the application for....it is a steel version with an aluminum or pot-metal dog-bone handle and is 2" at the base....the threads are 16 tpi with no taper.....any clues?.....Thanks.

    i have a couple too. they were just another accessory to get your money in the 20's. they come in different threads for all the different brands on the road back then. i'm a T guy, but have not found one with T thread. its for the radiator, not gas i believe

    Radiators weren't pressurized back then. The cap needed to be vented if there wasn't an overflow tube. And since many of the cars in the teens didn't have a separate shell covering the radiator, you would see a tube. So there wasn't one and the cap is vented.
