Im in need of a rear sump oil pickup tube for a 472, 500 and can not find one. who would have thought that there isnt any parts places that can get one. I have tried oriellys, pepboys, autozone, advanced auto parts, and napa with no luck. I know someone has to make it.

any ideas as to where to get one?

There is a great source, the CAD guy...just can't remember the name. He supplies speed parts for 472-500" Caddys, makes many custom pieces...This part should be in his stock.
One of our HAMB bros will know, I expect an answer within the hour...

You could call Arapahoe Salvage out here in CO (they specialize in Cadillacs), or possibly Cadillac King in So-cal. I think that would be too new of a part for McVey's, but worth a call.

The rear sump pans were only in the Eldorados as far as I know, feeeser32500 is right, get ahold of Marty at MTS. There's lots of parts out there now for the Caddy that just weren't around a few years ago

425 is a rear sump with a 5qt cap. Have been picking them up on ebay with no problem. The trouble with the Eldo pan is it's too deep for most cars and it also has small front sump with a drain plug in it.

From my own research several years ago I know that others have fabricated dipstick tubes from a piece of brake line and a compression to male thread adapter.

You have to thread the block where the factory tube was pressed in. Remember to use a pipe thread tap if the adapter is NPT or use a straight thread tap if the adpater has straight threads.

Try searching cadillacpower.com and contact the administrator Ted, he is an excellent source of used Eledorado 500 parts.
