i bought a straight 39 ford coupe from arizona and the original frame was mangled and cut up and poorly welded together with suspension parts and pieces that i can't identify. so the plan is to purchase a frame and components from one of the manufacturers out there. i have a big block chevy and a super t-10 for this build and i want to kick butt at the drags. thinking to narrow the rear frame rails and mini tub the body and run a dropped I-beam up front. also pushing the engine back about 3 to 6 inches for weight transfer. don't really like the gasser (front-up) look. i want a low all around stance with a slight rake. i'm sure most of you guys would weld up and modify your own chassis but being a FNG, i prefer the store bought method. any suggestions on chassis manufacturers... who do you like and why? i know pete & jakes is a vendor for h.a.m.b. but the art morrison frame looks good too. any experiences out there?
I think we got a HAMBer out that way that can hook you up. I don't recall his screen name but I think it starts with SUR. At least this can get the collective juices rolling.
