So I finally have saved enough money to purchase wheels and tires for my galaxie. I'm needing sizing advice diameter and back spacing tire size . I'm wanting to run astro supreme style wheels . My car has been lowered about 3 inches with a slight rake in the front. Also I would like to keep the ability to run with fox craft skirts . Any advice will help or pics of anybody's setups , or different wheel suggestions ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1374631613.938853.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1374631636.262605.jpg

Nice wagon man! Where did you purchase your wheels? What kind of back spacing do you have?

I bought them from summit racing. I believe 535.00 shipped. They have two backspace options and mine are the"standard " backspace. 2.875 inch. Wheel Vintiques series 23 wheels. Then I got bullet center caps on eBay. The completely change the look of the wheels!

You need this set of 63 1/2 HiPo caps and factory wheels I have setting in my shop.

The problem is they belonged to a lost friend and I'll probably never sell them.

But they are what that car needs!

  15. Standard or reverse refers to the offset. A standard has a shallow lip, while a reverse is deep.

If it were me, I'd be thinking about 14" reverse supremes with a thin white wall tire. I really like your car and I'd like to see it once you get some new wheels.

Definitely go 14s man! I'm running 14 reversed Supremes on my 62 Impala (similar body style to the Galaxie).

Thanks! I'mm runnin 14x6s... And if you lower that Galaxie right you'll have zero clearance issues. I have a couple buddies with 64 Galaxies that are tastefully low and set up right. Both run 14s too. IMHO 15s look kinda alien on a long, low '60s ride.

  23. As far as quality goes make sure you get the ones that are reinforced on the back side. And also I am pretty sure your came factory with 14' wheels.

I got em used on CL (set of 5 on nice pinner whites). They're the nice, reinforced U.S. Wheel ones. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1374792276.998108.jpg
