Need parts help

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by tokyo, Jun 29, 2006.

  1. Does anyone know the wheel cylinder size for a 65 merc wagon. I got this 9 inch rear from another hamber and it will need new wheel cylinders..I tried to get a part number off of it, but can't find a reference. Apparently there are three sizes according to autozone, and this obsolete ford part has about 5 sizes. The part number is 492X6 can't tell what that X is..so that doesn't help either.

    anyone got any ideas.

if it has the old wheel cylinders on it, just measure the bore size...

squirrel - i don't have a caliper thingy to measure down to the 32nds. otherwise I would. I will mess with it tonight and see what happens.

huh....I can measure to 1/32 with a tape measure. It's really easy to measure the pistons.

I can also read the size that's molded into most of the rubber cups.

Depending on what model it is, either 15/16 or 31/32.
