This is going to the crusher if I don't tell the guy I want it. I think it looks badass just need to fix a little of the chop but I just cant figure out what do do up front. I hate the way 40's Ford grills look and am looking for something different. What do you guys think?

you could still use the original front end but put in a different grill insert like an Olds or Buick grille, that body style works pretty well to most modifications as long as they are done tastefully. In any case I wouldn't let somebody just crush it, that thing is worth more than what he would get in scrap metal and I love the look of a sedan delivery.

Put a '46-'48 Merc front end on it or maybe a '40s Studebaker nose but PLEASE don't let it go to the crusher!

I'm probably going to drag it home and let it stew under a tarp for a couple years while I finish at least ONE of my current projects then pull it out and decide how to tackle it. At the very least I spy some front suspension parts I could use on my Frankenstein "A".

If the idea that it would look "retarded" even crossed your mind there's your answer. Hell if nothing else make a trailer out of the body. Room for a cooler or two, a tent/awning, some tools............ You'd have the only one like it.

for some reason i dig that thing. don't put a 32 grille on it. stock front-end with olds grille for sure and i'd cut the the rear open like a c-dan del.

That Olds grille idea is spot-on.

I'm not sure what year but I'd say but some sort of truck clip on it. I know that's vague but I think it needs something with some substance. Definitely not a 32 grill. Just my .02

  13. Man... The rockers and door bottoms look sweet.. the snow makes me (california boy) think rust right off.. is it as solid as it looks? my first thought was a 38 ford truck nose.. save it... it's way too kool to crush!!

Stock nose, custom grill and possibly turn the back into a hatch with the window as part of the hatch. I can see you camping in that rig at roads end in about years.
I may have to send some photos to a sketch artist friend of mine to see what he can come up with.

    That looks awsome
    I love vans
    oops sorry delivery's

  17. Just looking at the profile shots, I would try an old Dodge Brothers type nose. Widen it about 4-6 inches and run it fenderless. Maybe some pinner tires up front with some decent sized meats out back to really emphasize the wedge shape that it would have. Might look kool with the rounded edges of the body and roofline. I could just be too tired, though.

Put an earlier nose (36-38) on it, with a Packard or Lasalle grille. Ir stock nose with a Caddy, or Olds (46-48) grill. That's about as traditional as it gets.
I have also seen a 36-8 ford, with a Zephyr nose on it, pretty cool. Big George in FL had it. Those parts would be hard to find, though.

I think it would look great with a 41 nose on it. I'm a sucker for the 41 ford though. it's the only car on my "cars I want that have fenders" list

  23. Upstate NY you say? If you can't figure out what to do with it, tell me where it is, I'll go get it, have a good safe place to put it with no fear of the crusher.

If you ask me it needs a tall, narrow grille - 46-8 Packard Clipper maybe - and full fenders.

Even 1940? A '40 Standard (or '39 Deluxe) would be killer......

  29. 72 Monte Carlo front end and grill. Ha ha ha ha!!!!! Sorry, I was just flashing bak to a 57 Chevy I saw one time with, I kid you not, a 40 ford front end on it. Shi~~~VVVV~~~er!!!!

You're right that's bad ass, I second or third or fourth the stock front end with an Olds grill. That's one of my favorite mods for those cars. For some reason keep thinking 1940 International pick up front end though it'd probably be too big.
