i have a 59 apache truck short fleetside. a buddy has a 55 frame that has been blasted and primered that i can have. my ? is, are these the same frames, i can't see a difference, but i don't want any suprises when i'm ready to mount cab, front and bed on it. any and all help welcomed.

  2. If I'm not mistaken, I think the 58-59 frame may be an inch or two longer at the front horns where the bumper mounts. Nothing that couldn't be easily remedied though. I think it was just a result of the redesigned front sheet metal that pushed the front bumper out an inch or two further than the 55-57 trucks.

As far as cab and bed mounting...yep, they're the same.

    I'd say go for it.

Check Lux Blue's thread "How to clip your 58 pickup in 24 hours" or something like that. The thread is a WEALTH of information!

Just make sure its not a first series frame for the AD trucks. You can tell by the tapered rails and high kick in the rear.

Saxman has it right, the frame will be too short at the front.
