Got a batch of door handles and found one that has a threaded hole down the center of the shaft that goes into the latch assembly (not cross drilled for the tapered screw) not sure what it is for. I am working on a coupe and dont have any like this, could this be for a rear door on a 4 door sedan? Any help?
I have done that to some handles where the external thread was snapped off, where i drilled and tapped the shaft and used a small screw to hold it all together. Maybe an old repair?
Know the 1940 all used taper screw but was not sure about the 1939, no sign of the tapered hole at all and it does not look like a repair but not sure. Could it be for a woodie?
