    Dizzy Gillespie??

I believe it to be mostly VW and alot of glass/metal/bondo fab.
Take a ghia, flip it around and give a couple extra feet for an engine compartment. use 6 vw bug front fenders, french the front headlights and weld two front halves for the rear quarters and fill the headlight holes. nash roof 5000 man hours and 10 gallons of bondo....maybe:rolleyes:

If you really want answers, you need to get the thing out and take better pictures.

This is just one of the 1000s of cars made by American car enthusiasts during the 40s-60s, the peak years of the "Special" cars assembled from an array of parts of many to make up the dream car of the builder.
Some were featured in car enthusiast magazines but many were featured in the pages of Popular Mechanics, Popular Science, and other like magazines.
Some are really beautiful, some interestingly almost beautiful, some simply cute or quirky, many just plain odd in concept and execution and some downright ugly, out of proportion nightmares.
Personal opinion dictates which category YOU think this car falls into, I think it's an interesting quirky build.

Wow, now that is different. Looks like they ran out of ugly sticks before they could get done trying to beat that into shape.

All the money from this sale goes to the widow so she can get out of debt and keep the house and a few of her late husbands things.

I would put it under "other makes". The replica & kit car category has a certain stigma to it. Here is a link to the auction. Good luck.
