I've got three wires and only two terminals. See pic. The One on the right goes to the distributor the other two I don't know where.

  2. Not sure what vehicle you have there but---since you have 3 wires to deal with---it may have a coil resistor in the feed from the ignition. If so---one wire will only be hot when the starter is engaged, and one wire will only be hot when the key is in the "on" position and the starter is not engaged----Not to worry---they both go on the side of the coil with the + sign on it. The wire to your distributor goes to the side of your coil with the - sign on it.

    if its positive ground.

  6. Yes---if its a positive ground, then the + and - are reversed.

Is this getting confusing, or what? Aren't all of the 6V early ford electrical systems positive ground?

One of those presumably goes to distributor 6" away...identify it visually.
Make a tester...light socket wit feed wire and ground wire, add on alligator clips. Put battery in and connect cables.
Ground your light, see if putting other alligator on either of remaining wires lights you bulb. If not, turn on ignition switch and repeat. Report results.
