Trying to find city where 1954 Pennsylvania Autorama show was held. I found 2 photos with just a glimpse of my 37 Ford . The sign on front of car says Chas P. Kelly Pottstown,PA. This was the owner of my 37 from the time it was customized back in 1948 . Also looking to find more photos of the build by body man Bill Detwiler from Birdsboro , Pa. Both Chas and Bill died and relatives can't find photos. here are the two photo's taken in 1954. The one with the Chevy ragtop look to far right to see the 37 roof and hood.
On one of antiqueynot's threads there was some discussion and thought that it MIGHT have been Philadelphia. Might want to check out his threads and see.
Maybe he's inactive...I dunno. Here's the thread I found: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/index.php?threads/651304/ Sent from my LG-H901 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Might check on kustomrama or customcarchronicle as well, both of them came up in my googling, but, not with a ton of extra info. Sent from my LG-H901 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I would check with Rik at Custom car chronicle. He is a wealth of knowledge, and may have some more photos if you're lucky. Or he may see this thread and chime in here. Good luck, I hope you find some more info. How about a full photo of the car?
Here is a bit of coverage and it looks like the building was a large dealer service shop. http://public.fotki.com/Rikster/11_...ars/vintage_custom_car-1/1954-pennsylvania-a/
Was in Philadelphia at a Chevrolet dealership . Anyone from the Philadelphia Modifiers remember this show ?
