Back in the 80s I worked in Dubuque Ia thru a winter, there was a tire shop that heated with tires. They had a burner in the shop that they would put cut up tires into and burn. The snow around the building was covered with black soot, I don't know how they got by with.

 

^^^^^ I worked at a body shop in the 70's that did the same thing. Man did the black smoke roll.

 

I have often joked about getting a "used tire stove", so those previous posts are pretty funny to me.
Best to run only at night!
