Anyone know a top notch shop for getting a distributor mechanical advance curve adjusted? I'd like to delete vacuum advance and set my curve from 18-36 @ 1,200-2,800. It's a Chevy inline 6 distributor.

I've found a shop about 2 hours from me that could do it, but they are booked a couple weeks out for dyno work. I'd rather just send it to the best in the business and get it done right away. So who is the best?

Talk to GMC BUBBA here on the Hamb. He KNOWS his stuff (He teaches it!).
I had him do the Mallory dual point Distributor on my 292 Y-block.

I live fairly close to the guys, they do great work and have a pretty cool shop to boot. They do injector work too if you need work done on your OT car.

Love it! (So true.) Fortunately cheap doesn't matter that much to our clients.

The distributor is on its way to Bubba's. He said he could do it the same day he gets it. Price was about $50.

I'm inclined toward setting the curve 16-36 from 1,200-3,000 (no vacuum advance). The car will be raced on road tracks, and I'm expecting it to spend most of the time in the 3,000-5,000 rpm range anyway.

Anyone have any recommendations on the best curve for this engine/car? The car will weigh about 1,800 pounds and the engine puts out about 300 hp.
