I know I maybe haven't been around here long enough to be starting too many new threads, but I thought you guys would enjoy these. The guy that owns these cars is the entire reason I got into traditional hot rods and dragsters. I think the pictures were taken around 1963 or 1964. I grew up a few houses down from him. I remember when I was little, he used to light up the 392 in that 3 window (now blown and injected) and I would ride my big wheel over to his house just to watch the monster run for a few minutes while he tuned it. Anyway, he's been having some trouble with his health lately, so I thought I'd go B.S. with him for awhile tonight. I really enjoy the time i get to spend with him. He has forgotten more about hotrodding than I'll probably ever know. He let me borrow the pictures so I could scan them into my computer. I hope you like them.

He said he channeled it 11". He also told me in 1958, he bought the complete origional 3 window coupe for $40.00. Talk about a good investment!

I gotta agree that Coupe is bad ass. Methinks the rear end might be a tad too wide on that touring!

I see so much over the top stuff these days that I forget some of the OG Hot Rods back then really did look like some of the stuff our generation is building now. Tradition, I guess.

I could probably take new pictures, but the cars are both in pieces now. He took them apart before he went to Vietman in 1965 so his relatives and friends wouldn't thrash them while he was gone. He got into some chemicals during his tour of duty and has had bad health ever since. He still has the cars and all of the parts plus a lot of other really cool vintage speed parts. Here's a peek into his garage. The black 392 with the gold valve covers is the motor that was in the coupe. He drove it on the street for awhile with the blower and four port hilborn. What a ride that must have been.
