My uncle lives in Kansas City Missouri and found these neat old pictures for me at an estate sale. I can't tell you all how excited I am about these!!!!

Anyone have any history on some of these cars or what track/ airstrip this is?

    Enjoy!

I love the way that roadster looks. I saved the picture so give me a few years. Cool pics though

In 1956, the National Championship Drag Races were held in K.C. Brush Creek runs through K.C. (Brush Creek Special is name of one of cars in photos)

I agree on that roadster, that thing is bitchin...how about the early "rail dragster" with the "roll bar" hahaha...

I have a picture on my wall that looks a lot like the chassis and roll bar. they used to race those around here in the late 30's early 40's. a good friend of mine had a junk yard when I was a kid [early 50's ] and he sponsored three of them. thats where I got the picture.

Amazing that the 28-29 tub and the 32 5 window's drivers aren't wearing helmets on the lineup.

You can see the KCTA flagman's back of his jumpsuit in the SLAMMMED Chrisman style 32 3 window photo in the first pic, but I can't pick out the name on the back above the KCTA. That might also help.

At first look I was also wondering if that 31 roadster in the first photo was an early iteration of the cockroach! The fact that the gas door is on the rear quarter says a big NO on that one. Still, that is a smokin hot channeled A.

I've done and plan on doing some pretty stupid things in my life, but driving a stripped stock chassis with a roll bar on it will definately NOT be one of them :D ...I dunno about you guys, but it just feels like a LOT more could go wrong sitting on that thing than behind the wheel of an AA/FA...I'll take my chances hanging on for dear life in a car like Pure Hell, at least it has a nice comfy cage surrounding me instead of 1 roll bar :D
