History Neat early hot rod from 1946

This is from the movie ‘The Best Years of Our Lives” 1946.
The car has about a 2 second clip near the start of the movie.
Did a search here on the car, most are old and the pic is missing (on my computer anyway)

 

There was a movie that came out in 1950 named "Hot Rod". Lots of early roadsters.

 

That one looks like a coupester., with the straight vertical windshield posts.

 

I want to know what's going on with the windshield. Clearly roadster doors and roadster A pillar body lines on the cowl but the windshield post and frames look very different. Maybe some custom work done there, I don't think I can see any glass in it. Interesting. A fair amount of speed stuff on the engine for 1946 as well.

 

It’s a roadster with some custom body work, notice the gas tank line on the cowl is missing (filled) and I don’t see a gas cap.
