There were a bunch of great names but if I had to choose one it would be Roger Lindamoods "Color Me Gone".-Jim

"Color Me Gone" gets my vote too.

Once when we gridded our Production car in front of Paul Newman at Road Atlanta we had the midnight inspiration to write "Ben Quicker" on the back panel. After beating us he came by our pit and said he thought it was amusing.

My daily driver had the license "St Iron". Variously called Street Iron or Saint Iron depending on how it was running that day.

I need to come up with a neat letter font for when I paint ''DeathsDoorStep'' on the side of the Coupe.....you know when a name reflects the vehicle and when its missed the mark....Littleman...........lots of history when it comes to drag cars and their names over the years...

Seen one with "Buster Cherry" on the drivers side. Always wonder if it was the drivers name.

My father raced a '33 Dodge coupe in the mid/late 60's named "Baker's Half Dozen" for our last name and the engine, slant 6, that he ran.

    Campaigned mostly central PA/MD region.

I bought a 66 fairlane drag car, for what I thought was a 427. it was'nt but the sheet metal was pretty straight so we cut it up for tin for a dirt track sportsman.
The name painted on the side was " Psychotic Reaction"

When my uncle ran B and C Gas he called his 55 Chevy 'Mindbender' and later after painting it purple Purple Passion.

My car if it ever gets finished will be called Afternoon Delight.

He sold it to someone in Kansas if I remember right.

I have been playing with the idea of paintin the words "Social Security" on the back of the sedan in 70's disco super fly lettering. The car is only 4 ft tall so everyone is always leaning on it so it becomes a social gathering spot.

Every car I own (or even look at for that matter) I nick-name. My '63 Ford Fairlane I sold earlier this year was nick-named "Weekend Rebel" (I saw the name used for a temporary tattoo booth).

My next project, a '62 Ford Fairlane is nick-named "Pandora's Box". My current cruiser, a '62 Mercury Meteor is called "Flat Broke", although a friend likes to call it "Flubber". Another good name for a drag car might be "The Great Pretender".

    Thanks!

Still looking for a pic of
    "MR. PERIOD"

  29. L.A. Hooker, Spaghetti Bender and The Boogie Man were my favorites in the 70's...

I could only find a pic of one...

  30. The worst name has to be "Novacane"

I don't know how many dumb asses I've seen put that on their Nova's over the years... kudos to the first guy who did it!
