Hey guys first time poster here so take it easy on me . I have a set 49 to 53 Navarro heads for a flathead and was wondering what they are worth . They seem to be in pretty good shape. All the fins are there, good spark plug threads The threads where the water hoses attach are stripped

Price varies a lot depending on condition. Pictures would be very helpful. So would an intro.

Not sure how to post pics. The guy helping me build my engine says as far as used heads go you probably couldnt find a better pair . There is some pitting in the combustion chamber that he isnt sure what its from.

Well, a better pair wouldn't have pits in the combustion chamber. That's not a good thing. If it's real bad, the heads may not even be usable. Check the FAQs on how to post pictures.

they still make them, so that usually drives the prices down. the 'pitting' you speak of might be from detonation ?

I'm not sure they make the '49 - '53 version. But I think they have the patterns and are planning to do them. Even so, the new ones aren't exact copies of the originals.

Weemark not sure yet. I am building a twin turbo motor and these might be to much compression. Dont know if I want to carve up a set of original Navarro heads
