Nat Danas, an automotive aftermarket icon in the trim and restyling arena, died yesterday at 89. Nat was a trimmer after WWII and started Auto Trim & Restyling News in his shop on an old mimeograph machine. I've had the honor of knowing Nat for 15 years. I was the editor of Auto Trim in the late Nineties after Nat sold the publication to what was then Shore-Varrone. Nat had the same lifelong passion for the trim/restyling industry as did our hot rodding heroes. Nat was a contemporary of the restyling/customizing pioneers in the Forties and Fifties. If any of you run a trim shop or know someone who runs a trim shop, they should know Nat. Services are tomorrow in Clearwater at the David C. Gross Funeral Home.
