Lol! I'm in the process of reassembly and most of the brightwork still requires polishing before installing.Does look like a carp right now.
I thought I read that Ford in their haste to bring a true hardtop to market (as Chevy had done a yr. earlier) put Victoria tops on convertibles.
I always figured that cars or tricks had to come by their name or nickname naturally. My daughter named my truck when she was two or three and it's name has been "Little" ever since shortened from Little red truck. I sure like that color it looks like looking though a glass of high end port wine. I've been wanting something similar for the 48 when it is done if it ever gets to that
Essentially yes. there are a few diffeerences but they are very close. The convertible sits on an Xframe and has a few structural sheetmetal differences.Same Skin though.
...............I can't afford a "high end" port wine but, I'm looking through a glass of cheap Argentine Malbec and the more I drink the more I like the color.
That's what GM did so Ford followed suit. At least here in the South the early Hardtops were called "Hardtop Convertibles" at that time. That's what my grandmother called her 51 Bel Air. It was her all time favorite car.
"Topper's Ghost",,,OK,so this is a two meaning +,there was a old cool movie called Topper*/they did like 3 or 4 of them, with Cary Grant etc. And your Top is like a ghost*,comes an goes. A little out of the box* play, LOL. I painted names on cars in the mid 50s in to the mid 60s along with pinstriping an airbrush "T"s under the art name of "The Bat",so got asked a lot about possible names. Its all fun.
