I just mounted a starter on a 364 naihead and the solenoid is darn near straight down, not quite but close. No other way to try and clock it. Is this correct? According to Oreillys part number I have the right starter. Just not use to seeing the solenoid in this position. Any input appreciated.

  2. I don'tthink it cares as long as its not getting banged around or hotted up. I don't remember which direction my solenoid was on my old 364 too many years I am afraid.

The solenoid on the 322 in my 37 coupe was straight down. They don't care. HIT THE KEY.

I know they do not care, just wanting someone else to say theres is the same. Not use to seeing a solenoid down in the elements picking up road grime and what not.
