I just "finished" my wifes '64 Falcon more door. It started out as a super clean Grandma car, no dents, no rust, never wrecked. Taught her to weld, and sand, and we painted it in the garage. It's got a 260 V8, and a Ford-o-matic two speed. Here's what we've done to it: Reverse eye springs in rear Cut coils in front Straight pipes Spider caps Caddy tail lights New paint New windshield New carb New radiator New waterpump New tires Full tune up New door panels and carpet
Very nice looking Falcon ! I had a 1960-2 door with a 170 and 3 on the tree & a 1967 with 170 and 2 speed auto . Both were good cars to me . Would like to have a 1964 with a good running 289 . Enjoy your car and drive it !
Thanks for the kind words. This is her first "old" car, but she's a little attatched to it, now she doesn't know if she will ever be able to sell it. It's funny how much positive attention we get driving this thing around town.
very nicely done. I love the round bodies best, but with your treatment, this '64 is fantastic. For your wife, the door panels are a perfect touch; great job! Get back to us on mpg. I'm in the high teens with my 170 as my '63 is a daily driver.
Thanks LaGrasta, that means a lot coming from another Falcon guy. Haven't paid much attention to mpg, just having fun cruisin', but maybe I should start tracking it though. I would have loved to do a lace panel roof, but don't have the funds right now, so I figured lace door panels would be the next best thing.
Very nice Falcon!!! you should lace paint the roof eventually. I dig the lace door panels. My wife is starting to drive her falcon with the 170 and 3 on the tree while I am getting the 302 and C4 ready to swap in.
Looks great. The door panels are a nice touch. Gonna catch dirt super easy. But hey, we all like dirty lace!
