:eek:No Rules--The story was in August 1949 Hot Rod ,that was the inspiration. The car is built to the 1947 photos.

So who do you think will see pavement first...my 41 or your tank??? its gonna be a close one!!!

  12. The Tank no question!

You'll change your mind and sell or trade the coupe or you will abandon it for your more door.

Hey that could be a new nickname for you "the abandoner"

I think "The abandoner" is more fitting for you....When was the last time you touched the pontiac? That is such a cool car and it just sits there begging to get the engine installed...

  15. Hmmmm let me think...... oh now I remember the last time I was able work on the hardtop was before YOUR 41 took up residence on the lift and YOU spread all your shit out so you can "look" at the pile, rub your chin and then run off back to college.

Last Saturday the 41 was going on the back burner and the 4 door was moving ahead, this Saturday I hear the 41 is up front again and the 4 door is once again moth balled.

Man the tanks looking awsome!!! Mines along way off yet! How do you go about getting in it though? Do you have to take the front off? or can you fit in from the top?

is this frame legal to run on the salt?? my uncle has been wanting to put his tank together but refuses to put a modern cage in it. He's building it based on A rails like this one.

Not as pictured. I beliezve this is a tribute tank and not a race car.

revkev6; The frame is OK -It needs all the modern cage work and the list goes on. This car is about 60 years out of date to meet todays standards.
If you have been to Bonneville and look at the cars you can see how complex the cars are.

Havn't heard anything on Bill. I do not believe that the USFRA will let this car run on the 130 course. But maybe. They let guys run 100mph go carts.

The State of Montana will plate this tank as a 1943 Curtis , the USFRA might let it run if it has current plates . I don't think thats in the cards! It isn't a Race car , It looks like a very old lost in time race car. Puttering around on the salt etc. sounds
like more fun for this one!!!

Today I got the tank wired, and made up a mount for the front noes of the old gen.
This would make a good tech post for those who need a alt.mount on a intake that doesn't have one
