I won't show all my photos, but here are a few.
And just for the record, it was a great time!

AND I have a question for you guys that have been there a lot.
What is the difference between Speedweek vs this coming event World Finals, other than the big attendance at Speedweek?

The thing I love about salt racing is there are no cookie-cutter cars.
Check all the fresh video on YT, etc. There were some great runs this year.

y’sguy…..the weather. world finals its 70-75 max and 60 in the morning for back up runs and you can haul ass if your naturally aspirated on gasoline. .. less entries ….little waiting.. no rat rods… fewer looked-loos but I’m ok with them anytime. …rain or snow on the way home sometimes to clean the truck and trailer….
I’ll try to think of more..oh WWWWAAAAAAAYYYYYY cheaper rooms and no waiting to eat..

  12. @y'sguy , thanks for the shots, please post more. You have a few good examples of fire doors on several of the cars. This started as a requirement a few years back

  13. This year was my first time there. 30 years almost of wanting to be there. It truly is the last real grass roots racing on the planet done only for the love of it. Unsoiled by corporate sponsorship and money, with the best people in the world. Also the most pristine porta pottys on the planet.

  14. We had issues a few years back with nasty porta potties, this new company does a good job. Still a good idea to hit em early before the sun starts baking them ;)

  15. yeah but if you went in them in the afternoon, you could be in there for a few minutes, and when you came out it it felt like the AC was on!

The silver car in the upper right is probably the Stringfellow/Kirk car that crashed during speedweek . It is or was a beautifully built car that has had some bad luck.

  18. 2nd time crashing unfortunately, or am I mixing it up with that silver Caddy that crashed?

I'm pretty sure that was the car that was wrecked pretty bad at about the 2 mile.

Skip Pipes old roadster, he ran as a F/BFR. Built hell for stout. Glad to see it still using fuel…

The first letter is engine size. D is 261-305.99 cubic inches. The next letter is fuel type. G is for event gas, F is for "fuel". Pretty much run what ya bring in fuel class. The next letters are chassis class. CC is competition coupe. Extensive body modifications, heavily chopped top, streamlined nose, belly pans, etc. $10 buys you a current rulebook from SCTA. It will keep you entertained for many hours or a lifetime.
