Picked this up this weekend..yes the guy brazed it together:eek: might be able to fix it.. Thoughts on what to do with it? I know it'll need alot of work I just thought it was kinda neat...I think it was a 4 door shortened..It needs work in the roof area.(pretty much the whole thing) We'll see what happens..I remember a drawing Jeem did in Rod and Custom years back that was a shortened sedan. Found this and made me think of that..

I agree it does look like a Bantam.

Get a truck bed from Mac's and build an extended cab pickup Model A!

I love the shortened four doors, they have a cool race car feel to them. I like the look of the Purple people eater even thou that is a cut off coupe but still has a similar look.

i say hard top it! w/ a cage,, cloth roof insert w/ snaps,, one seater,, or maybe a lil back seat aswell,, wooden floors, dip it? spray dark brown, w/ some air brush black make it look old in a cool safe way,,fun drive train, get a tractor grill, suicide front end, dropped in the front. umm thats what i would do, i've always thought of that, making something like that out of a four door,, I wouldnt do the extended crap pickup thing. never, ooo, and maybe like a rad custom sun visor,,

It's better than the poke in the eye with a sharp stick - it's also something I'd probably buy because I want a Model A so bad that I probably WOULD poke myself in the eye with a sharp stick to get a Coupe. Congratulations ... I think. ;)

I guess I'm not seeing what you are complaining about unless you are having buyers remorse and gave too much. A lot of guys would give their left nut for one like that. They all need work.

A stupid purchase would've been a Suburban or Excursion. That's just a potentially foolish purchase. Depends on how it turns out. Good luck.

Ayone else got examples of a shortened 4 door? I am always looking good ideas for mine. One thing I am noticing is that with an extended cap pick up it's too long for my standard A frame. So I am going to have to stretch the frame about 2 feet to make it look right. What is the purple ppl eater? Or a competition coup look like?

If you dig it, build it. Maybe it will FINALLY be something a little different to look at. After a while my eyes hurt from the same ol..
Build it just how you like it.

Did the guy you bought it from braze it together? Square tubing? Do you have any of the cars history?

If you have none, I'd aim towards a 60's bantam gasser. Might be a hell of a find.

Here's a couple I'm working on. The Dodge sedan are just parts I mocked up to get an idea. The pickup was a 2 dr. sedan front with some '29 quarter panels laying out back and a PU rear panel. Joe.
