Oh, dont call it a "R*t Rod"!! You need some bias ply tires.

Truckincoupe a little advise here. Dont refer to your's or your sons car as a RATROD.If you do you might as well just call it a piece of shit. The R word is frowned upon around here. This is not a rat rod forum. Gregg

Hell "street rod" is almost as bad as the R R words. But don't look to far from a " Trad rod" other than the wheels/tires. let's see some more pics. Good on you for helping your boy out !

Good to see a dad and son working together doing a '40 pickup. good for both of you. Nice to see. The time you spend together today will be some of you most valuable memories you will have some day..

Looks pretty similar to my daily; they are a good way to get around, and handy when you have to haul stuff to and fro. Besides, the World's Most Beautiful Granddaughter loves to ride in it with me.....

Beer I Need Beer to go with the popcorn. Just duck while the wrenches fly it will be ok. Truck looks cool more pics please. How did your boy get his nickname?

  26. "STREET ROD" is almost as bad as that "other name" on here. This is a "Traditional Hot Rod board", where preserving the ways of old, are the focus. Stuff like bias ply tires, flathead power, period correct accessories and speed parts are the norm. I still like the idea of a young guy, like you're son getting into the hobby though, so I'd like to cut him some slack, rather than discourage him. You both, should have a look around the forum, you'll probably like what you see, and understand where we are all coming from.;)

I didnt know these guys wrote the dictionary! Call it what you want, enjoy the build. Truck is looking nice! The best truck out there to build, doesnt get any better. Interested in seeing some more pictures.

  30. Put some nice 40 Ford steelies on it,and you've got something! Doesn't look bad. Your first mistake was trying to "label" it! Maybe you should have said "Check out my son's project",and left out the RR tag.
