    That Edsel is absolutely dreadful.

  2. Maybe it looks better in person :)

Not really my style ... hopefully the 57 will look a whole lot better. I think its hard to nail the look in the cowl area, windshield and rear wheel openings of these cut down rides.

  3. I kinda like the stink bug look and I'm sure it will show of the jag rear end,I'm looking forward to some updates. HRP

  8. The cowl certainly is one area, where a lot go wrong. My take on this area would be to use an early 30s, or twenties cowl, possibly narrowing it to suit. Im keen to see how yours shapes up. As to the Edsel, its ugly, but it would be an easy fix.

Hard to get an overall picture but what about angling the quarter panels in at the front so the door area is more parallel with them?

Looking forward to see how this turns out. I am with blowby, I think it would flow better if you took and narrowed the back section. Maybe take a string line from the cowel to the end of the fin and to see what that might look like. Just my 2 cents.....

  14. I agree ...the angles needs to flow straight .....not sure if you are doing anything from the cowl forward but a complete 57 tapered inclusive of fenders ,hood and a narrowed front end would complete the theme..... but... hmmmmm.......I think I would sketch it up first. Hey....your whole idea is awesome ....looking forward to your progress.

Yep, there's some neat stuff in there. The Atomic Punk and The Brown Neck Bandito stand out. Are you planning a bubble, or open cockpit?

I was thinking you could cut the trunk down the middle, weld in a V and angle the fins outward in the back. Still a two seater and the doors would be parallel. Just a suggestion, it will be cool no matter what.

Customizer, cool project, lots of vision, creativity, and talent in evidence. The 3/4 view in post 45 seems to show the fins on a forward down angle different from the frame rails. Might look better if you lined up the tops of the fins with the frame. (The tops of the fenders parallel with the frame would look better?)
