When you do the steering, if you do not use the stock spindle tie rod location and you end up building another steering arm. The correct geometry is figured this way.

Locate the plane intersecting the upper and lower ball joint. Do this on both sides. From here a line to the center of the rear of the car right above the rear axle. This will make a "V" that starts in the rear at that central location and intersects the Steering Access Inclination line or SAI, between the ball joints of both sides. The tie rod location should be in this "V", either in front of the ball joint plane or behind it. Obviously the rear intersection points will be narrower than the ones in front.

Just my 2 cents. I love this project.

I agree with Sweeds shoebox Roll it outside and stand far away at different angles to see the flow shapes.Tape up the gaps to mimic sheetmetal and if possable set in the back window.I have done this before and realized it didn't look as good far away as close up in shop.I noticed your side rails look too straight from the rear view shot. The side body is round and the top is straight. When you hard top a car you will have to match up the roof line with the body so your side windows will match up.Just a slight bow might help.I may be wrong but its something to think about before ya get too far.I like your side rails you made, good idea.

    Thanks for the coments

I will take out see how the car look when it is posible to do it there is vw body in the way and there is lot of snow out side the shop

Jaws i shall think of that you say. i shall maybe use shorter steering arms on the r&p with a part on the middle on r&p to move them out to not get bumpsteers

    I'm glad you liked it.:D

Stefan is doing such a great job, I was just offering it in case he hadn't thought of it so he can have some trouble free steering.

As you know this is one of those details when building a car that not many think about or even are aware of, that can cause havoc and take the fun out of a good car.

It is info like this that makes the HAMB an essential part of every build.
