Made my annual Saturday morning trip to the Shades show today. The weather was perfect, temp mid 70's, clear skies, low humidity, and good attendance. I think this is one of the best organized shows in the country, traffic flow into the grounds for participants is good especially if you come in on the back side of Sevierville and avoid Pigeon Forge traffic. Parking for spectators is free, admission is only $10, and there were at least 50 well maintained porta- johns. There were also a large number of vendors and a pretty decent swap meet, and if the on site food offerings and prices were not to your liking there were some new fast food places within walking distance just outside the entry gate.
There were many cars there that I had not seen before and the "Top Twenty Five" were outstanding as usual. I hope everyone enjoys the pics, most are HAMB appropriate, some are borderline and some I included just because I was impressed with either the design or workmanship. Here's the first batch. 20170909_093313.jpg 20170909_093320.jpg 20170909_100148.jpg 20170909_102236.jpg 20170909_102446.jpg 20170909_102430.jpg 20170909_102543.jpg 20170909_102717.jpg 20170909_102904.jpg 20170909_103201.jpg 20170909_103258.jpg 20170909_104358.jpg 20170909_104643.jpg 20170909_104931.jpg More posted later, including my personal pick for best of show.

Here is my pick for best of show, this one checked all the right boxes! It is owned and built by a gentleman named Dan Fuller. The car was also picked by the show judges as one of the "Top Twenty Five". Dan didn't know me, but he was very gracious and spent about 20 minutes answering my questions about the car. The detail on this thing is amazing, but its not trailer queen Dan says it sees plenty of road time. I especially liked the full belly pan and the thru the frame exhaust. Anyway here are some pics that I hope capture some of the spirit of this car. 1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg 4.jpg 5.jpg 7.jpg 8.jpg 9.jpg

thanks for the coverage, I always like people in the pictures (not blocking subject tho)

In my opinion it gives the car (s) relativity to how big, or how they sit.

  24. It is indeed a nice looking multi-door,I would think it must have some sort of air ride with the rear tires so close to the body.

There are a few similarities. HRP

Yes I agree, I caught a slight wiff of street rod. I still admire its combination luxurious/hot rod fragrance though.
