  1. Dan,
I want to thank you for the great photos you have taken. You are the man! Almost better than being there in person. Can't wait to see more.

You're welcome redroaddog. It was one of my favorites too.

Here is a real unusual one - the Chopit Kustom’s Beatnik Bubbletop which started as a 1955 Ford.

Dan, your photos are over the top! I don't know what program you use but I love the way the reflections pop in the paint and the texture it give the photo. Kool!

Thanks mj40's. I actually use a variety of different things, depending on the picture. Also many of them - probably about 1/3 so far are HDR images which means they are a really a combination of different exposures of the same car blended together in the computer.

Love this pic, the reflections on the side of the fenders are way too kool, it has a kool
    clydeascope effect.

I have a question concerning your photos, How do you run off all of the people around the
cars? You hardly ever see anybody in them which makes for a kool pic. You must be an
    intimidating person....

Keep posting the pics, love your work.

Thanks Mick. Most of the time it is just patience and angle. A lot of times there are people there in positions where I can easily erase them. Here, I had a press pass and so was lucky enough to have access to the cars with no or few others around.

Does anyone know what year this one is? ( I know it is 52-54) I also am pretty sure it is a Ford despite its Mercury grill. Thanks in advance to anyone who knows for sure.

Thanks! - Your car was awesome to photograph - I hope I run across it where I have more flexibility to capture it.

I may make one sometime. The problem is, like all self publishing efforts, it is hard to make one and keep the price reasonable and still make it worthwhile to do. I did a few self published books and will do more, but they too are pricey. You can check out the first volume of the Hot Rod and Customs one on line at http://www.blurb.com/b/3560652-car-art-rod-and-custom-car-show-magic if you are interested.

    Thanks FOURTYDLX!

Glad you liked it Dudford. I will see what else I can dig up.

Here is one that may not be HAMB friendly, but here it is anyway - the 1936 Beerster.

This is another car that despite how it looks is really a pretty new car and created from the ground up to be used in the Great Race. The engine and many of the other parts are from a 1936 Buick. The wheels are from a 1929 Oldsmobile. Although the idea was to create a car similar to what would be raced in the 1937 Indianapolis 500, most of the parts are new and were fabricated for this car. For more information, please go to www.beerster8.com.

  23. Great pics as always Dan! You always get to the coolest places and make me wish I was there, too. Maybe I should rent myself out as the camera wiper off-er and you can bring me along in the camera bag next time? ;)

Thank you Dave. And I could have really used a camera wiper off-er on this trip.
