LOCKWOODCUSTOMS, my brother had a 48 F-1 that had a 283 with the stock trans/rearend and it was a very nice driver and would chirp the tires often. Keep in mind, stock 283. Didn't mean to steal the thread, nice truck again!

Thats a shame you couldn't handle being a Hot Rodder...

The truck is pretty cool tho.. nothing like a Hot Rod.

Beatnik Blowout is what use to be called Back to the Beach.. :D at least thats what I heard..

  13. Sweet ride... I have me one them 38 and somewhat 39's myself. Its crazy to me how many different options they may have had. My front fenders have markers in them and yours are on the lights and some don't have em at all. I also have 2 windshield wipers.

    CRAZY!!

Again, it looks to be a great start :)

  14. Well....it runs great, shifts great, doesn't have any problems with the trany that I can see. Like a dumbass,I shifted into reverse when I pulled in the gas station, cause it's a 3speed and the Hotrod was a 4speed,LOL!!!
Down-shifting into 2nd is good, but you have to be almost stopped to put it in 1st.

  15. I noticed that too. Some of the pic's guys have posted on the other thread I started, have two wipers also. WTF!

  16. I heard Wayno has the same set-up in his '36. Must be a good deal.

Thanks Bob, I have to almost be at a dead stop for me to shift in first with the Flathead so that is no problem for me. I can not wait to do this swap.

Fuck make it a Mercury truck and tell everyone it is a Canadian model........lol

  24. That would be cool!!!! I'm working on a "SPECIAL" logo first! If that doesn't work out,i'll do something else.

  25. Regarding the 283 with the stock trans....Wayno has had one in his '36 for years and that car has been everywhere....just be smart with it......nice truck Bob....you driving it to work tomorrow?

Ford 3 speeds were not syncro'd in first, that is why you can't downshift to first.
