Well my brake light wernt working yesterday so spent the day getting those fixed I changed it over to switch on the pedal. Reason being the brake lights will come on a lot sooner because it doesn't have to get to 95psi of brake pressure first. Figure it's alittle safer. My brakes are still not right. It's a shame because it's running so well I just want to drive it everywhere. Think I'm going to replace all the wheel cylinders hopefully that'll help. Any other suggestions? It's not showing a leak and it has a brand new master cylinder.

Ok so started work on my rims I had two extra rims that came with the car so I sand blasted, primed and painted them. Thankfully I have access to all the equipment to do stuff like this. I wanted to run spider caps but they cost way more then I want to spend, and if I have to change bolt patterns then they are no good anymore. So I'm going to figure something out. I'm not a fan of hub caps. So now this weekend I'll try to get two more done. [IMG]

And today I took the good off blasted it with plastic media and started fixing dents and filling all the trim holes. Im not a fan of bondo do I try to get my metalwork as close to perfect as I can....

Here is is with all the paint off not really any hidden surprises, I know the fenders will be a different story....

I'm going to shave all the trim and moldings but the side molding so these holes had to go.The one with the mark under it had a dent where something fell and landed on the hood emblem. I decided to work it out at the same time as the warping from the welding.

Here they are after welding and metal finishing there where filled with a little plug and tig welded

Thanks bud! I got the inside done after work... Ill get a pic of it back on the car tomorrow.

Next ill be taking the fenders off and do those, tring to do one piece at a time. I was originally going to leave the car pretty much alone on the outside, but I can't stand the rough metalwork! I know that there is metalwork on the fenders and left rear quarter but I can't tell what's under that bondo so should be interesting....

Here it is back on. I'm pretty happy with it, only thing with it is my dumbass flipped it alittle to early and it shows where it sat on the rack while I primed the underside but oh we'll live and learn....... ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1383263286.734296.jpg

Looks like it got wrecked.... Well it didn't. I took the fender off for blasting metalwork and primer.

    Here it is before
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1384051287.644713.jpg

Unfortunately this fender is alittle rougher then I expected.... I knew it was patched at one point so I expected some dodgey work.
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1384051547.341043.jpg
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1384051572.658802.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1384051584.458522.jpg
It was hit pretty good behind the wheel.
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1384052145.031901.jpg

So now it's time to do my thing and get this thing back in useable condition. Atleast when it all done and painted I know the metalwork was done right and won't lead to a failed paint job.

    Half ass update!!!

I started fixing the fender after work I got one patch made and tacked in place in the lower section I also started fixing the big ass dent.... This dent is going to be a mess to fix.

Here is the dent before I started used a marker and a file to shows the highs and lows.

Update so got something done today! Finally! I got the lower patch welded in and smoothed out. Got the antenna hole filled, and got most of that monster dent back into shape. Here's a few pics

    Lower patch
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1385261078.352304.jpg
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1385261107.790497.jpg
    Antenna hole shaved
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1385261150.973247.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1385261170.707661.jpg
The dent has been a major project. Someone at one time tried to beat it back into shape. They ended up doing more damage so not only am I fixing the damage of the dent I have to fix the damage the person before me caused. I may not be able to get it perfect but I can get it pretty close.
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1385261187.224282.jpg
I also shaved 4 holes that were just above the wheel opening
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1385261698.612740.jpg

Should be able to get some more done tomorrow

    Ryan

Haha iv been working in media blasting for almost a year now and iv found autobody archaeology almost always ends with it being worse then expected.
But that's a nature of the beast I guess. Atleast I know what to expect on the other fender. It'll be awhile before I start on the other one I miss driving the car so might drive it for awhile and wait till it's too cold then start the other fender.

Well I think it's finally time for an update!! Iv been really busy with other stuff and havnt been able to do much to my own stuff. The fender is still in the process of finishing the metal work but it's almost done. But I mounted a new dual master cylinder and made all new lines.

While I had it on the lift I went ahead and started the process of swapping out the old 3 speed to a mustang t5. Should make it much more drivable car.

I'm finally getting back to work on the merc! It's been a long time since iv worked on it. Iv just been so busy with the everything else. Got alittle frustrated with a few things on the car so I took a break. But now iv decided the car is too cool to sit anymore. I got the t5 in it now. Just waiting to get the driveshaft done. I don't really have any pics of where it is now I'll get some when I got over there to work on it next

Hey Bruce! I was just in Dollywood in April with my wife for our one year anniversary. I hope those fires out there didn't affect you. I'm actually wanting to get this car together to drive out there for the shades of the past show in September. Maybe you'll have the Chrysler there?
