Great pictures. Am building one just like it and am always interested in different ways of going about it.
my five window, sold it in 2012. went to Indiana. The temptation to chop was too much, had to let it go before I gave in. the other one I sold in 2004, a real late 50's build, just didn't want a channeled car. that one went to washington. Does anyone know if it ever got finished?
Mine came with the pile of parts that was with the car when I got it. I've seen them at swap meets, but not sure where to get them new. Mine do have a Monroe number on them, I'm out of town right now but if you PM me as a reminder I will pull the number when I get home and get it over to you.
memory says trailer truck seats or maybe the cab had very short shocks, but it didn't dare run them...
Got back from Hershey, lots of goodies. Found a 28 Chrysler rad cap, my seat and some MG shocks. A lot of other parts as well. Got the shocks installed and wrapped up front brake lines.
Picked up my headlight bar from the chrome shop today. The headlights fit perfectly just high enough to work and just low enough to look good.
micro platers on van born in Romulus, they're good for small stuff, they dont copper or nickle. I prefer Dynamic metal finishing on Bewick St. in Detroit. Its a one man shop that does die cast and alum. plating, his work is exceptional, reasonable price and the turnaround is rarely more than a week or two.
Is that near the Packard Plant? I keep hearing about a place near Mt Elliot and 94...of course I’m married with children..chrome’s a dream at this time
I’m pretty sure Pete & jakes makes really short front shocks. That’s what I’m currently using. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Just when I start thinking my work is looking good, I run across a thread like this. Nice job and thanks for the big dose of humility. Walt Outsiders CC
